¥¥¥¥~~~Art and Music~~~¥¥¥¥
Hello faithful readers, this is Virgil D. Angel Reporting, the highlights of Kenny Mitchell's life, as I shared with Him, growing up, as His Guardian Angel.
One of the elective classes Kenny chose to take in tenth grade was ART.
He was one of those doodlers that like to draw useless cartoons and goofy looking people, but when it come down to actual talent, even being His angel I have to say, He was not at His best with the brushstroke...
The art class that year did have quite a variety of projects the students could do for their grades and one project that Kenny took up that year was RUG HOOKING....
Little did he know how many times he would have to cut yarn and how many hooks he would have to push in and pull out before the rug was completed.
He chose a multicolored pattern and took him the better part of half a semester to finish it, but He did, and it was beautiful and He recieved and "A" in that class.
Not a grade that He was use to getting, because as much as He like to doodle he also liked to do just enough to get by.
Even though, many times I tried to shame Him into doing better.
Toward the end of the tenth grade, Kenny's High School had what they called a MOD ASSEMBLY, which stood for March Of Dimes....
He loved to go to these things because the students participated in doing the talent show and there were always surprises waiting.
This year when one of his fellow classmates, that He didn't even know could sing or play music, stepped upon the stage, picked up an electric guitar and begin singing a song that turned out to be one Kenny would hold in His heart for the rest of his life...
The song you hear playing in the background is that song....
It was called Peaceful, Easy Feeling....
His Friend on the stage that day, GARY, would forever be remembered for sharing a moment in time with a song that would live in Kenny's heart forever.
Kenny went home after that and bought the album with the song, which was originally recorded by THE EAGLES and his voice matched up so closely with this groups voice that it made Him love the song even more and learn to sing and play it on His own guitar.
His friends, relatives, and especially His Grandmother Emma, loved to hear Him sing that song...
Well...Friends...Coming in the next Chapter...The Love Bug strikes again...and I have to rest up for that one....So keep in touch and I promise to be here....
