In the early years, Farm Tractors were referred to as
"Traction Engines." In the spring of 1907, the Hart-
Parr Co. determined to find a shorter name and
eventually hit on the word, "Tractor," mean-
ing a machine for pulling or hauling.
From that time on all manufact-
urers began using the term
"Farm Tractors."

The Rumely 6a Tractor was the company's final attempt
to get in on the new gas tractor market. The tractor
came too late (in 1930-1931) and combined with
several other reasons was the last model
this famous company ran off its lines.

After over a decade of slumber, the giant 1926 Rumely
Model "S" 30-60 OilPull bursts back to life.

This video Certifies a Guinness World Record as the largest
operational agricultural plow. The demonstration pitted
5 examples of the century old Rumely 30-60 Model E
oil pull traction engines against 66 Cockshutt 14"
plow bottoms cutting a furrow 77 feet wide.

The huge drawbar was built to handle four Rumely's,
however rain & heavy soil conditions made the 5th
unit necessary. This breaks the previous world
record of 60 plow bottoms of 14". The Rumely
Model E's are identical units to those used
that set the original record in 1911.
