Bill Wilson
Our Co-Founder, Bill W. is speaking in Atlanta, Georgia in 1951 and talks about the first days of AA, the Traditions, and the cornerstone of
service in our fellowship. The quality of this tape is pretty rough in a couple spots. Even so, you will have a chance to listen to 'The' Bill Wilsons voice and hear his message on one of only a few recordings available. (74 min)
Bob Smith Jr.
Our other Co-Founder Dr. Bob, his son Bob Jr., spoke at our International Convention in Minneapolis, Mn. in June, 2000. Bob is a member of our sister fellowship Al-Anon. As the last living person who was there when Bill Wilson and his Dad started the fellowship of AA, I think you'll enjoy his talk. Bob describes Bill and Dr. Bob's first meeting as well as a lot of other early on AA history. (55 min)
Dr. Paul Ohlinger
Dr. Paul O. is the author of the stories, "Doctor, Alcoholic, Addict" in the 3rd edition and "Acceptance Is The Answer" in our 4th edition, in the Personal Stories portion of our Big Book. He is probably most famous for his often quoted discussion on 'Acceptance' on pages 449 or 417 respectively. Dr. Paul's message is excellent. California, Monterey Bay Round-Up, 1997 (56 min)
Sister Ignatia
Born Della Mary Gavin in 1889 in Ireland, Sister Mary Ignatia worked with
Dr. Bob to help admit alcoholics into St. Thomas Hospital in Akron,
Ohio, starting in 1939. She surmounted obstacles to personally care
for thousands of alcoholics over the next several decades, both in
Akron and later at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland. Sister
Ignatia died in 1966. (1947 - 29 min)
