I won't get in my carrier,

The Rose

When it's soft and feels like velvet,
And sweet beyond compare,
You may touch it with a wonder
Such loveliness is there.
And the touch can make you happy,
In the saddest wind that blows.
There are some who understand it;
A kitty's like a rose.

When you see it in the springtime,
A tiny bud that's new,
And you watch it slowly open
As if it trusted you.
Then you see how all God's beauty
Can start out very small.
For it might have been a kitten,
And not a rose at all.

While a rose is always wanted,
Although it has a thorn,
How can flowers be more lucky
Than all the kittens born?
When your love is something special,
As every kitty knows,
Is it strong or is it fragile,
Or fading like the rose.

In the cold and snowy winter,
When the roses are all dead,
Then you sit beside the fire
And hold your cat instead.
While you're making precious mem'ries,
There are none as dear as those.
Then your cat is with you always,
As lovely as the rose.

You Don't Bring Me Tuna

You don't bring me tuna,
You don't buy me salmon.
I don't see a can of sardines
in the bag you brought from the store yesterday.

What, no chicken livers?
What, no raw steak pieces?
Golly gee, what's a cat gotta do?
I'm depending on you and you blew it away.

You know very well how I love little mice,
Can't you find one to bring me? oh that would be nice.
Or I just want something that's not fulla rice.
You don't bring me tuna any more.

I get something healthy.
I get nothin naughty.
Just premium this and prescription that,
so boring and bland that I just wanna cry.

Shall I hide, all teary?
Shall I pout, all grudgy?
That may be expensive enough,
But it doesn't say Treats, if it does, it's a lie.

(slowly)
Now, when I'm old, I should be treated kind,
Get the yummiest cat food you ever could find,
But you just bring healthy glop and think I won't mind...
That you don't bring me tuna any more.

Quiet and kind, where could he be?
A wink to watch ofur me.

I'm a little shy, for I've had my heart,
All full of hope, broken apart,
I'd like a wink just fur me.

Although he may not come on time now
To meet me, and party,
To my heart he carries the key.

Won't you tell him please I just love to dance,
Love to dress up, maybe by chance,
There's one to dance just wif me.

Although he may not be as catsome,
Or princely, well that's some
Advantage, cause he'll notice me.

I'm a purrty girl who needs someone good,
I know I would love like I should,
A wink to watch ofur me.
