Songs by Cats
Dance of the Little Swans, from Swan Lake Ballet
by Figaro Tchiakatsky
dot-dot-dot-dot dot-dot-dot-dot
See the kitty stand on her toes and
Hope she doesn't fall on her nose and
Whoops, the kitty tripped.
Da-da-da-da-da
No she just slipped.
Da-da-da-da-da
A feline dancer has grace but
Hope she doesn't fall on her face but
She goes dancing on.
Da-da-da-da-da
Her fear is gone.
Da-da-da-da-da
She whirls and twirls and pirouettes and
dan - ces proud - ly,
Till some tom in tights is dropping her and
Bump. Oh there is hissing now,
and it is getting loud ....
She turns away, she's fluttery with
deep e - mo - ting,
Till that tom in tights is stepping on her
foot, and fur's about to fly,
and feathers start to float ....
(repeat adagio)
The kitty dancer is fine, she
Does her splits with nary a whine, she
Bravely dips and spins
Da-da-da-da-da
The audience grins.
Da-da-da-da-da
Her swish, her flutter, her bow,
And there's a standing ovation now,
Her pride is still intact.
Da-da-da-da-da
And can she act!
Da-da-da-da-
Bring down the curtain,
For it it is certain
She - is - glanc - ing
Over the lights to
One tom in tights who
Won't - be- danc - ing
No more!
