Background song is "Letters From Home"
The Eyes of a Soldier
The eyes of a soldier tells were he's been...do the folks living in freedom look close enough to see what he might be holding within.
The letters written to home from a jungle or a trench saying how he's so confused about the way our world is in contempt.
Eating C-Rations and wearing combat boots that don't fit.. holding a man of different color in his arms that died from the wound in his throat the enemy slit.
The unimaginable fear of machine guns and the bombs and the screams they bring..holding his hand on to military issued weapon while still clutching close to his wedding ring.
And finally his tour is done and back home he did come with a heart full of pride..Do us that stayed here living in freedom REALLY know what this soldier who fought and what all in his personal life he put aside.
So when your soldier comes back to stand on your step and you don't understand some things he does..try to remember what he went through fighting for the freedom for the country that he loves.
