JULY 2012


GLEN LYON

July 12 - Police were dispatched to Newport Street for a report of a domestic disturbance where a man was struck with a vehicle causing injury. The man that was hit was treated at an area hospital and the driver of the vehicle was promptly arrested.

July 15 - A Glen Lyon man was arrested in a wooded area after he made threats that he would take his own life in the woods. Police located the man and took him to an area hospital for treatment.

July 15 - A Glen Lyon man wanted on burglary charges out of Newport Township was taken into custody on a warrant. He faces additional charges for flight to avoid apprehension.

July 18 - A Glen Lyon man was arrested for domestic violence after he assaulted his father after the verbal altercation.

WANAMIE

July 05 - Police responded to a home on Center Street where a report of an unresponsive male was called into 911; drug overdose. Once the man was treated and awoke he began to assault an EMT. Police were on scene to subdue the man and ultimately arrest him.

July 06 - Police responded to a rash of vehicle break ins on Old Newport Street and Vandermark Road. Nanticoke City police also had a few breaks ins. All vehicles with items missing were UNLOCKED. This matter is still under investigation but please remember to LOCK all vehicles at night.

July 16 - A Nanticoke woman was arrested on a criminal warrant at a home on Miner Avenue. She was out of Swoyersville for theft charges.

SHEATOWN

July 01 - Police arrested a Nanticoke juvenile for underage drinking at the Holy Child Fair Grounds. The person who supplied the alcohol, a Glen Lyon man, was also arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors.

ALDEN/RIDGE VIEW/LEE

JUNE 2012


GLEN LYON

June 06 - Police investigated a burglary on East Main Street. Items were taken from an unlocked garage overnight. Those items included hand tools and a clay bird thrower. Police believe they caught the person responsible on another burglary but no confession was made.

June 13 - Police arrested a Glen Lyon husband and wife for domestic violence after an argument turned physical.

June 16 - Police investigated a report of stolen dirt bike taken from a garage on Market Street.

June 21 - Police arrested a Glen Lyon woman for cruelty to animals after she abandoned (4) kittens at the Rock Street Housing Project.

June 21 - Police arrested a Glen Lyon man for burglary after he broke into a home on Hill Street and stoled a few hundred dollars worth of items.

WAMAMIE

June 05 - Police investigated an attempted burglary at St. Mary's Church on Belles Road. A resident called police when they observed (2) white males trying to enter the rear of the church. The males fled prior to police arrival. No new leads in this case but there have been no other issues since this occured.

ALDEN

No major incidents reported.

RIDGEVIEW/LEE

June 13 - Police arrested a boyfriend and a girlfriend from Overlook Drive after they stoled thousands of dollars worth of items from the male's father's home to fuel their drug addiction.


MAY 2012


GLEN LYON

May 07 - Police arrested two Glen Lyon men, a Wanamie female and a male from Hunlock Creek who broke into an abandoned house on West Main Street and were stealing scrap metal.

WANAMIE

May 01 - police arrested a Plymouth man and a Nanticoke woman for stealing misc. items from a job site in Wanamie.

SHEATOWN

May 06 - Police arrested a Glen Lyon man for a controlled substance DUI after he was clocked speeding. The male was under the influence of methamphetamine.

May 12 - Police arrested a Kingston man on a fugitive from justice warrant out of New York State.

ALDEN

No major incidents reported.

RIDGE VIEW/LEE

May 05 - Police cited an Alden man for illegal dumping at the area commonly known as Weinick Park.

May 24 - Police arrested a New Jersey woman for fleeing and eluding a police officer after she was observed trespassinbg on private property and failed to stop for police.
