:::My Thoughts Before and After An Uplifter Day!:::

(Portions taken from a letter written by Jennifer Weithaus)

Dear Kenny,

As I begin I have to tell you how special you make me feel. I can be having the worst day, and then I see one of your emails filled with love and compliments, and suddenly I feel like a real person, who is valued and who has some purpose in this world. Life doesn't seem so bad after I've had a dose of you.

Of all the wonderful feelings I have for you, I would say the greatest is admiration. Your steadfast love and faith in our Lord Jesus never quivers, and you never fail to give Him the glory.

Despite the challenges one can sometimes have with being a Christian, you take it all in stride and make it look easy.

You don't let the miseries in life hold you down, and you never ever doubt or question the Lord. You just take all of his blessings and try to share them with everyone.......

HOW I CAME TO BE IN THE UPLIFTER FAMILY....

I have to say my first internet experiences were not very pleasant. I had no idea how to use Webtv, as I had only purchased it to be able to email my relatives in Europe.

I had no knowledge of chat rooms, and when I heard people talk about them, I thought they were ridiculous. I thought chat rooms were places people went to when they had no social skills with the people in their daily lives.

Eventually, once I got more comfortable on the web, I started floating into various chat rooms just to see what they were like. Needless to say, I was shocked and disgusted many times.
Thee devil seemed to be at every click. I was disgusted by the language and all the sexual innuendos.
I knew the chat rooms were no place to enhance the Christian life I was trying to lead.
I did go into different "religious" and "spiritual" rooms, never finding what I was looking for.

I was still not very keen moving around from room to room, so many times I happened upon a place by accident.

To be perfectly honest, I don't even remember how I came across Lonely Christian Singles, but in one minute of being in there, I was touched by a kiss of our Almighty's love.

I found a room with wonderful people. Kind, respectful, caring; and people with a genuine love for the Lord. I was so excited to have found this room. It wasn't so much that I had a need or desire to make new friends, but I hadn't been a Christian very long, and I was struggling in a lot of areas. I found the chat room a great place to learn and share in. I especially enjoyed the prayer hour.
And that is where I met you. I was touched by your friendliness, and impressed by your willingness and joy in serving the Lord.

When you started sending me your daily Uplifter emails, I was blown away. The time and effort you put into them is incredible. How wonderful that you spend so much of your time devoted to the Lord. I still struggle as a Christian, as I am the only one in my family that is saved. My Mother was killed five years ago, and my Father and two brothers are not Christians.

I sometimes find it very difficult to relish in the joy a Christian has or should have sometimes, when I am surrounded by such misery and scrutiny.

When I need a good lesson or a reminder of how the Lord is always on my side, all I have to do is read one of your emails. You may not know this, but you are really a teacher in disguise.

You share the Lord's word and way of life, and remind so many people each day how much they are loved. What could be greater then that?

Your stories and insights are always fun to read, and I enjoy how you share your family with the rest of us. I sense you come from a very loving family, and that means a lot to a person who doesn't know what that is like.

Yet, when you share your problems and need for prayer in certain areas, it reminds me that even as a good Christian, life is not perfect. We should expect certain trials and tribulations, it's all in how we respond to them that makes or breaks us. It moves me to see how you cling to the Lord in your greatest hours of need. It reminds me and teaches me what I need to do in my own life.

I appreciate your sensitive and compasionate side, as well as the thoughtful side that remembers to give people hugs and well wishes on their birthday.

You're warm and gentle, and God's love just runs right through you. You're an inspiration, and a wonderful friend. I haven't been saved very long at all, and yet you never make me feel silly in what I say.

I feel very uncomfortable around some Christians, but your ministry conveys no judgement. I am truly thankful for you and your ministry. I am grateful of the reminder of God's love, and how you have the power to make the sun shine a little brighter each day.

Love to you, Kenny, and the entire Uplifter Family!

Jen
