###•••TOPIC #3---Your Church Family!---

****Written by Sandy Hennen****

Since being saved in 1979 I have only belonged to two churches. Both are very large at least 6,000 in membership if not more.

Even though these churches are large in comparison to others I have never gotten lost in the crowd.

The first church the pastors Father never forgot a name that was so impressive to me. I just loved Dan Tucker and was sorry to see him leave for his heavenly home.

Pastor Ron spoke only from the word and as a new believer I needed this milk. My children and I lived at church. Everyone made me feel a part of a family that really was better than my own family.

The second church where I attend now Pastor Jeff was my children youth pastor at the previous church.
That was the hardest thing I ever had to do was leave my first church. But when God says to move you must obey the spirit.
Pastor Jeff is so awesome words cannot describe how I feel for him. In all the 24 years I have known him he has never deviated from the word and the truth. He helps my feet stay planted on solid ground.

My church as I said is large now and still growing however it feels like a small family.
You never walk in that you are not greeted with a cherry hello, a warm hug a or a feeling of belonging. My kids are their kids, my grand children are there children. They care truly care.

Even Friday night my grand children had not been to service in a while and Pastor John (our children's church Pastor) was walking by to attend to the Baptisms during service. I mouthed to him that my grand children were here tonight. He ran over to children's church just to tell them hello and hug them then came back to do the Baptisms.

A church should reach out to help the helpless and we are differently an out reach church going overseas to various places where disaster hits to help rebuild homes and lives and to help establish churches and schools.
My daughter was able to attend some of the mission trips the best was being able to go to Kosovo which is part of my homeland country.

Have I mentioned that I love my church gosh do I ever.

Church is the biggest part of my life and I am truly blessed because when I prayed at the church I attended when I first got saved and asked God to show me a place to attend where we would be feed and grow and loved and accepted he did not fail me. He planted us into a marvelous community.

To be a pastor of a church is a task that is not lightly taken and our pastors need our support and prayers and help.

Another part of the church is the body of Christ of which we are all a member. This is the best part. No matter what church we attend realizing that we are all the body of Christ and members of the same family is mind boggling at times. We are all a part of this great body and we also need to pray for this church family as well, which I know we all do.

  I love all of you.

I am truly a blessed woman. Thank you Jesus that I have been pulled out of darkness and entered into the light of you love and mercy and grace.
