###•••TOPIC #2---Honoring Your Parents!---

****Written by Bee Long****

I believe we should honor and respect our parents and everyone else.

Some times it can be hard if a parent is not respctable.

God blessed me with a wonderful, loving and wise mother.

My dad was a good hard working man, but he was not good at leading the family.

He left that up to Mama. It takes two to make PLUS God to make a marriage work.

She was a good Spiritual leader and taught us right frm wrong.

She believed in using a switch, never a belt.

She never hit us except on the behinds and switched our legs, but never both in one punishment.....lol...

She was the person I wanted to please most.
I loved her so much and from a small child wanted to help her with chores.

She always made me feel everything I did was great.

This relationship never changed.

I had so much respect and love for her that honoring her came naturally.

She had such a loving heart and compassion for children and old folks, black or white.

She said yes sir and yes mam to elderly people no matter their color.

We all know how back then, Black people didn't get the treatment and respect they deserved.

Well everyone did from my mother.

As my Mother treated people with love and respect, she was treated with respect and love in return.

I was in awe of the way people loved and respected her.

She had a small neighborhood grocery store and was surrounded by poor people.

The little children called her Aunt Dot and so did many of the older kids a the older people.

She was an angel to these people and to everyone that knew her in our little world.

She had the most beautiful smile that would brighten up everyone around her.......

I know I am saying way too much, but It would be hard not respect a parent like her.

I think it shows how much I loved and respected my Mother.

She died 14 years ago his past dec. 27.

It was several months before that I ask Jesus to come into my life.

I knew I could not deal with losing my Mother on my own.

I ask God for something special when I gave my life to Him.

I didn't make a deal and say I will serve you if you do this for me.

But I did ask for a special favor from Him for soething that I knew I would have to face in the near future.

Well let me tell you He came through for me and gave me the gift I needed so much.

I knew then, that no matter what I would have to face in this life, He would never leave or forsake me.

I have shared part of my first testimony of many that was to come from God and His promises.
