)))-(((--> Dealing with F E A R!!!!

The way the Local School System was set up back in the 1960's was you went to Elementary School until fifth grade and then you went to what they called back then, Junior High, now it is called Middle School.

Anyway, that meant that Kenny and his friend, Charles, were now the low men on the totem pole, so to speak.

Kenny relied on me more than ever this particular year, everything changed at Junior High, things were faster, more to keep up with, running from one building to the other, and new faces and many of them, seemed to be very unfriendly....Especially ONE face, One guy.

Although this boy was about half the size of both Kenny and Charles, He was street-smart and could really lay a line on the boys.

It was their first taste of REAL FEAR.

Once this boy, named DONNY KLUCK and having a name like that I would think, His guardian angel would have to stay on double time all the time, but that is none of my business, so back to our story...

Every chance Donny got He would threaten Charles and Kenny, on the playground, at lunch and would always tell them...."I'm gonna git both of you when that bell rings this afternoon!"

When Kenny looked at Donny, even though Donny was a skinny, sandy haired boy who always smiled when He talked his talk Kenny and Charles both would see this MONSTER...

Charles had told his mom about this and she would always be waiting close to the school door and Charles and Kenny would make a dead run for her car and get inside, as we drove away, They would always see Donny standing by the pavement, just laughing hysterically...I knew something had to be done, angel-wise!

Kenny and Charles discussed their problem with Donny, and finally after I placed some extra courage in Kenny's heart, Kenny decided to try and become friends with Donny, because He had found out that Donny had a rough home life and really had no friends at school.

I kept whispering to Kenny, "Just Be Nice, tell Him you don't want to fight, and invite Him to come over and visit you."

Charles backed away at this idea and told Kenny that He was on his own, but Kenny knew I was there with Him, so He told Charles everything was gonna be OK!

After Kenny confronted Donny in the playground, gave Him the invitation, Donny seem to be curious at first, but then said "Sure, why not!" and Kenny and Donny walked to Kenny's House that afternoon and Kenny introduced Donny to His mom and then when His dad came home, He gave Donny a ride back home, because Donny lived several miles from Us.

Kenny looked at the rundown home where DONNY lived, and as they let Him out and He slowly walked inside "home" , Kenny swallowed really hard, I knew that was just one of many times in His life that He was thankful for the family with whom God had blessed Him.

Kenny felt good. Donny seemed to be not nearly as bad as Kenny had first thought, and I had a chat with Donny's Guardian angel, HECTOR, and He was overjoyed that Kenny and I had joined in and helped Donny get a new start.

Charles was happy, too, because after that Donny no longer was a punk or bully at school, and now all they had to face was the thousand other problems that would be headed their way.

Thank God, I am an angel or this would just wear me out thinking about all Kenny and I would have to go through together....
