I had just read an article on the destruction of the rain forest and was talking to my son about ways to avoid fast food restaurants and other ways we can protect the planet.

He says to me, "Mom! You'd be so proud of me!

I got at least 7-8 kids to stop using paper towels in the bathroom at school!"

All excited, I look at him and say, "Wow! Honey, that is great. How did you do that?"

He says, "I just taught them all to wipe their hands on their shirts like I do!"

My mother had made for me a bunch of frames out of antique barnwood and I had them stacked in my office.

My oldest daughter had a friend over playing who was kind of flipping/crawling around on the floor (it's a kid thing, we wouldn't understand.)

Allyssa says to her, "Be careful! Those frames are from my grandma and they are worth a lot of money.

That wood is 150 years old."

Allyssa's friend slows down her movement, looks carefully at the boards and says, "Wow! Your grandma must have made those a long time ago!"

We bought a new flavor of yogurt this week, and I scooped out a dish for each of my children for breakfast.

After they put their dishes on the counter, I could see that my youngest daughter hardly touched her yogurt.

Taking a few tastes of it as I clean the kitchen (thinking to myself that this yogurt is actually pretty good),

I yell out to her in the living room, "You didn't like your new yogurt, Dewi?"

She yells back, "Oh yeah, I liked it a lot,

but the dog ate out of the bowl so I didn't want the rest."
