Binary Code and Space

Definition of a (binary code)

This is the way a computer reads the code as the zero's and one's spreem through the processor in a single file column.

The bionary code is simply 0's and 1's we see in the ASCII Codes

Text Space in Bytes

We may see how typed characters occupy space on a WEB Page.

Definitions: How Bits and Bytes Work

Bit: Either a 1 or 0 in a binary code.

Byte: A byte is a binary code or 8 bits that represent numbers, letters, and many other keyboard characters.

Kilo Bytes: K = 1,024 (One thousand and .024 thousands) in Computer terms.

All we need to remember is the number:

1,024
Almost a pi.

1,024 Bytes = 1KB (Kilobytes)
1,024 KB = 1 MB (Mega Bytes)
1,024 MB = 1GB (Gig Bytes)
1,024 GB = 1 TB (Tera Bytes)
1,024 TB = 1 PB (Peta Bytes)

Note: Even if our WEB TV were Loading at the Full 56K or 56,000 Bytes per second. We can see that a LARGE Page with Large Images will be slow to load and the Page to open with all images showing.

1024 Terabytes = 1 Petabyte

A petabyte (derived from the SI prefix peta- ) is a unit of information or computer storage equal to approximately one quadrillion bytes, or 1000.
petabyte - One quadrillion (1,000,000,000,000,000) bytes. SI symbol: PB; : 1,125,899,906,842,624 bytes or 1024, or 2. This capacity may be expressed unambiguously as a pebibyte. SI symbol: PiB, computing symbol.

1024 Exabytes

exabyte - a unit of storage capacity, 1,152,921,504,606,846,976 (2) bytes.
