CHIANG MAI, THAILAND
10/15/13
It has a beautiful climate of January being the coldest at 68 degrees
Fahrenheit and April being the warmest at 83 degrees Fahrenheit. So,
it is temperate all year long.
It is primarily a Buddhist area, so there are many temples around the
city. Some are very ornate and elaborate.
You can visit one of the many open-air shops along the street. They sell
everything from food to textiles and jewelry. Some of the women still
wear their traditional dress outfits too.
There are many waterfalls in the area. With such a temperate climate,
orchids and other flowers grow plentifully. It is common to see rice paddies.
One of the modes of transportation is on an elephant. You might see them
walking down the river also. Speaking of the river, they also travel
on it using flat cane rafts. I will say, that normally, I would never
go on one. But remember with our Online Vacations, nothing can happen
to us. We are always safe. Other modes of transportation is rickshaw,
bicycle, taxi, and a few cars.
After a fun day, you can unwind at the many restaurants or nightclubs. If
you are there at the right time, you may join in at one of the many
festivals. One in particular that looks interesting is the Festival
Of The Lanterns. I did not research what it is about, but the
lanterns look beautiful.
I hope you have enjoyed this trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
