ONLINE VACATION

CLEVELAND, OHIO, USA

1/13/14

Hi Everyone. We are going to continue to places that were requested
by my friends. Today's trip is to Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

Cleveland is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and is the county seat
of Cuyahoga County, the most populous county in the state. The city is
located in northeastern Ohio on the southern shore of Lake Erie,
approximately 60 miles west of the Pennsylvania border. As of the
2010 Census, the city proper had a total population of 396,815.

Residents of Cleveland are called "Clevelanders". Nicknames for the city
include "The Forest City", "Metropolis of the Western Reserve", "The
Rock and Roll Capital of the World", "C-Town", "The Cleve", and the
more historical "Sixth City". Due to Lake Erie’s proximity to the
city, the Cleveland area is sometimes locally referred to as "The
North Coast". Their motto is "Progress and Prosperity".

Cleveland was founded in 1796 near the mouth of the Cuyahoga River, and
became a manufacturing center owing to its location on the lake shore,
as well as being connected to numerous canals and railroad lines.
Cleveland's economy has diversified sectors that include
manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, and biomedical. It is
also home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Downtown Cleveland has a diverse architecture, ranging from historical
buildings to ultra-modern skyscrapers. Cleveland is home to four
parks. Cleveland is home to Playhouse Square Center, the second
largest performing arts center in the United States behind New York's
Lincoln Center. It's also home to the Cleveland Orchestra, widely
considered one of the finest orchestras in the world, and often
referred to as the finest in the United States. The city is also home
to the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. There are two art museums in the
city. Cleveland is home to the Cleveland Indians baseball team, the
Cleveland Browns football team and the Cleveland Cavalier
basketball team. Other important things in Cleveland are many
colleges and universities, and some advanced medical centers.

January is normally the coldest month with average temperatures between
19 and 34 degrees Fahrenheit. July is normally the warmest month with
average temperatures between 62 and 83 degrees F. July is also the
rainiest month with an average of 3.6 inches, and a yearly average of
37.2 inches of rain. January is normally the snowiest month with an
average of 12.6 inches, and a yearly average of 55.4 inches of snow.
Cleveland is considered in the "Snow Belt" and also gets lake
effect snow.

I hope you enjoy this trip to Cleveland, Ohio.
