ONLINE VACATION

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, USA

3/4/14

Hi Everyone. Today is "Mardi Gras", also known as "Fat Tuesday". Since
it is so heavily celebrated in New Orleans, Louisiana, that's where we
are going. Happy celebrating.

New Orleans is a major United States port and the largest city in the
state of Louisiana. The population of the city was 343,829 as of the
2010 U.S. Census.

New Orleans is located in southeastern Louisiana, straddling the
Mississippi River. Lake Pontchartrain, part of which is included in
the city limits, lies to the north and Lake Borgne lies to the east.

New Orleans was devastated with Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. Then
Hurricane Rita hit in September 2005, before New Orleans could recover
from the first hurricane.

January is normally the coldest month with average temperatures between
45 and 62 degrees Fahrenheit. July and August are normally the
warmest months with average temperatures between 75 and 92 degrees F.
June is normally the rainiest month with an average of 7.95 inches,
and a yearly average of 62.68 inches of rain. They have an average of
1/10th inch of snowfall in February and December. It doesn't seem
like snowfall happens every year.

I hope you enjoy this trip to New Orleans, Louisiana.
