'Laid Out In The Basic Text Of The Big Book' of Alcoholics Anonymous, and with the guidance
of our Twelve Steps And Twelve Traditions book.
I ask my 'Higher Power' for the right attitude
to make my amends, being ever mindful not to harm others
in the process. I ask for Your guidance in making indirect
amends. Most important, I will continue to make amends by staying
abstinent, helping others, and Growing In My Spiritual Progress.
"Now we go out to our fellows and repair the damage done in the past.
We attempt to sweep away the debris which has accumulated out of our
effort to live on self-will and run the show ourselves. If we haven't
the will to do this, we ask until it comes. Remember it was agreed at
the beginning we would 'Go To Any Lengths' for victory over alcohol."
(Big Book, Pg. 76)
Now we look at STEP NINE...
Is this step vital to My Recovery?
Am I Realizing when I admitted my wrongs I was Healing Myself?
I thanked my 'Higher Power' for putting the words in my mouth.
Am I also Realizing: Hurt people 'Hurt' Other People.

Some people Cannot Be Seen - we send them an honest letter. And there may be a valid reason for postponement in some cases. But we don't delay if it can be avoided. We should be Sensible, Tactful, Considerate and Humble without being servile or scraping. As God's people we stand on our feet; we don't crawl before anyone." (Big Book Pg. 83)
