Take Me Out to the Campground
Take me out to the campground,
Let's go camping wiff CLAW!
We'll toast mushmellers on pointy sticks,
Sit by the campfire and pick off the ticks,
Oh it's mew-myow-wow we'll be singin',
Nipzbeer in every paw,
Till the sun comes over the tents
Of our camp in CLAW!

Ear-lie in the Mornin' (The Drunken Sailor's Song)
Get outta bed while the sky is grey now,
Dawn is upon us, it's Camp today, now
Hurry, we're already late some way now,
Ear-lie in the mornin'.
Nefur you mind that your bed is warm and
Nefur you fear that the clouds could storm and
Go get the grill, it's a new George Foreman,
Ear-lie in the mornin'.
Don't sit and dawdle, we're goin' camping,
Don't drag your feet, get in gear, get tramping,
Don't bat your eyes at the boys, no vamping!
Ear-lie in the mornin'.
Oh.......we're......here, ...I'm yawning,
Bright.......and.......clear it's dawning,
Look....... how....... great,,,,WHERE ARE YOU?
(sigh) Ear-lie in the mornin'.

Sixteen Pounds
Some kitties say a cat can do amazing tricks,
Another one's outta them and one comes to fix,
All the joyful help and comraderie,
But this fishin' boat'll be the death of me.
You load sixteen pounds and what do you get?
Another big pile of firewood that's wet.
My back is breakin' and it's startin' to rain.
And whose idea was this again?
Some kitties say a summer camp is just for the brave,
And we'll get out of it as much as we gave.
Well, here I come and I'm loaded with stuff,
Find me a trailer that's sturdy and tough.
You load sixteen pounds of tackle and food,
How ya gonna get it to the rest of the brood?
One sprung a leak and the other smells rank.
And who'd you say that I get to thank?
You load sixteen pounds of olive green tents.
No cat would ever do this if he had any sense.
Oh kitties, don'tcha call me cause I can't go.
I owe myself a nap ... but I love you all so.

Tiptoe Thru the Stickers
Tiptoe thru the stickers,
Thru the nettles, to the aspen tree,
Come tiptoe thru the stickers with me.
Tiptoe thru the anthills,
Poison ivy, to the bumble bee,
Come tiptoe thru the stickers with me.
Toe...deep.....in chiggers we'll stand
We'll....sing.....that camping is grand.
So tiptoe thru the brown ticks
On the foliage, come and rescue me.
Let's tiptoe where the stickers won't be.

On Top of a Pine Tree
On top of a pine tree,
All shady with thatch,
There sits a brown sparrow
That I couldn't catch.
And next to the sparrow,
Onna branch the sun kissed,
There's a smart-aleck robin
I lunged at and missed.
And over the robin,
That squawking you hear
Is a dangerous bluejay
Who pecked at my ear.
On top of a pine tree,
It's too sad for words,
I'm hearing the catcalls
Of a bunch of smug birds.

Where Is My Sunshine?
Where is my sunshine? Why is it raining?
A Summer Camp sky should be blue.
My fur is frizzy, and I'm complaining,
Cause this campsite's far from you.
I lost my heartthrob across the river,
Cause I didn't learn to float.
Oh I was wishin I could go fishin,
But I couldn't find the boat.
I chased a duck and fell in a puddle,
I nearly caught my tail on fire.
And I went hiking with kitties biking,
And I wish that I was dryer.
A camper kitty is not so pretty,
She's lucky if she's not a fright.
I gots mushmella fur a handsome fella,
But I'll wait till dark of night.
I wanna hotdog, I wanna ice cream,
Somekitty ate the food all up.
Don't give me nipsbrew - I heard that story!
Don't give me nuthin in a cup.
Oh there's the sunshine, it's kinda hot now.
My nose got dry, my whiskers drooped.
My eyes got runny, my tummy's funny,
So I found a bush and pooped.
I feel just fine now, the world is mine now,
The sky is cloudless and it's blue.
I'll be more plucky cause I got lucky,
And my sunshine here is you.

Kitty Sneakers
I wore my kitty sneakers
When I came to camp today.
They didn't make the sneakers good,
That's all I got to say.
I tried to wear my sneakers
To show you for this song,
But the one for left was on the right
And the right was on all wrong.
If you got kitty sneakers,
The camping trails to roam,
Take my advice, bare paws is nice,
And leave the sneakers home.

I Gave My Love a Cricket
I gave my love a cricket that had no chirp,
I gave my love a nipzbeer that got no burp,
I gave my love a feather that had no bird,
I gave my love a story that had no word.
How can there be a cricket that makes no chirp?
How can there be a nipzbeer mew doesn't burp?
How can there be a feather that gots no bird?
How can there be a story without a word?
A cricket when mew eats it, it gots no chirp.
A nipzbeer mew don't drink it, it makes no burp.
A bird can drop a feather when swift it flies.
The story of my true love is in my eyes.
Down in the Valley
(a cautionary campsong)
by Phelicity
Down in the valley
Where berries grow wild,
Some kitties went hiking
All single-filed.
Following pawprints,
Watching for tails,
Kitties went creeping
Slower than snails.
The branches were heavy,
The sun barely shined.
Kitties got hungry,
No food could they find.
Deeper and deeper,
Leaving no mark,
Kitties marched onward
Till it was dark.
Up from the valley
Blew a cold breeze,
Chilling the feathers
Of birds in the trees.
Then came the thunder,
Followed by rain,
Followed by kitties
Heard to complain:
What are we doing?
Why have we come?
Whose bright idea...?
Well, it was dumb.
Up all the treetrunks,
With danger about,
Kitties went climbing
And wouldn't come out.
Back at the campsite
There rose an alarm,
Hoping the kitties
Had come to no harm.
Search parties gathered,
Leaders were grim.
Each hunted lost ones
Entrusted to him.
Soon it was morning,
And there in the light,
Kitties were clinging
To each tree in sight.
Some left them leaping,
Some slid to ground.
Noses were counted.
Were they all found?
Down in the valley,
If you should go,
Look in the treetops
For kitties you know.
Maybe they missed one
More than they got,
Maybe they all came
Down, maybe not.
This is my story,
This is my song,
If you go hiking,
Don't be too long.
Many are lost and
Many still roam.
Many are hoping
To find their way home.
Song for FHS Nurse Station:
Twelve Days of Camping
On the first day of camping, my leader brought to me
A cat who got stuck in a tree.
On the second day of camping, my leader brought to me
Two chigger bites,
And a cat who got stuck in a tree.
On the third day of camping, my leader brought to me
Three bee stings
Two chigger bites,
And a cat who got stuck in a tree.
On the fourth day of camping, my leader brought to me
Four ouchie toes,
Three bee stings
Two chigger bites,
And a cat who got stuck in a tree.
On the fifth day of camping, my leader brought to me
Five sunburnt ears,
Four ouchie toes,
Three bee stings
Two chigger bites,
And a cat who got stuck in a tree.
On the sixth day of camping, my leader brought to me
Six tails with stickers,
Five sunburnt ears,
Four ouchie toes,
Three bee stings
Two chigger bites,
And a cat who got stuck in a tree.
On the seventh day of camping, my leader brought to me
Seven upset tummies,
Six tails with stickers,
Five sunburnt ears,
Four ouchie toes,
Three bee stings
Two chigger bites,
And a cat who got stuck in a tree.
On the eighth day of camping, my leader brought to me
Eight campfire singes,

Nine runny noses,
Eight campfire singes,
Seven upset tummies,
Six tails with stickers,
Five sunburnt ears,
Four ouchie toes,

And a cat who got stuck in a tree.

Ten girls with tangles,
Nine runny noses,
Eight campfire singes,

Nine runny noses,
Eight campfire singes,
Seven upset tummies,
Six tails with stickers,
Five sunburnt ears,
Four ouchie toes,
Three bee stings
Two chigger bites,
And a cat who got stuck in a tree.

Twelve homesick kittens,
Eleven boys with splinters,
Ten girls with tangles,
Nine runny noses,
Eight campfire singes,
Seven upset tummies,
Six tails with stickers,
Five sunburnt ears,
Four ouchie toes,
