CHRISTMAS POEMS
All I Want For Christmas
~by Mewsette
All I want for Christmas is a small sardine,
Perfectly presented on a bed of green,
Please, without tomato, just a glaze of oil,
And some crushed ice underneath so it won't spoil.
Also I would love a brand new catnip mouse,
Small and furry grey, to bat around the house,
Little ears that wiggle, and a nose of pink,
Waterproof for when I drop it in the sink.
Also I could use a giant scratching pad,
Nice and sturdy, bigger than the ones I've had,
Laced with double catnip very fresh and strong,
Then my manicures would all be nice and long.
Also I'd adore a velvet collar, white,
Set with little diamonds that'll sparkle bright,
Looking rich and fancy just for dressup, that
Is because I am a most discerning cat.
All these little presents are so simple, yet,
If I have to choose the only thing I'll get,
Even though, among all Catdom, I am Queen,
All I want for Christmas is a small sardine!
What I'm Wishing
~by Phelicity
I'm a little different
In what I want for Christmas,
I'm a little harder to please.
Soft and silken pillows,
Piles of velvet cushions,
How I do love luxuries like these!
But when I think about it,
Where I feel the softness
Is deep within my kitty heart.
So, long as I am wishing,
Let me do some wishing.
Here is where I want to start:
Homes for homeless kitties,
Food for hungry kitties,
Love for kitties world-wide.
No such thing as cruelty,
And wiping out diseases
That take us from our loved one's side.
These are what I'm wishing
We could be expecting,
And if my wishes could come true,
I'd trade the silken pillows
And all the velvet cushions
In the world for them, wouldn't you?
What Tree is This?
~by Mewsette
I see a tree, now shall we play a little game?
I see a tree, let's see if we can say the name.
The tree is decorated in my living room.
We put the pretties on it; no, it didn't bloom.
It has stuff with jingle bells or angel wings.
It has gold and silver balls and ribbon things.
Mine has kitty faces on some ornaments,
And little Wise Men holding gold and frankincense.
Kitty angels there among the sparkling lights,
Red garlands, tiny stockings, many pretty sights!
Holiday tree? The term for understanding begs.
Is it a dogwood hung with colored Easter eggs?
Is it an apple tree with hanging pumpkin pies?
Is it a willow with a valentine surprise?
Oh goodness no, it's pine or fir or evergreen,
Laden with the prettiest things I've ever seen!
What tree is this? The answer's very clear to me.
This wondrous sight I see is called a Christmas tree.
