CHARLOTTE, N.C. – NASCAR, Eutechnyx and Activision Publishing, Inc. announced today the highly anticipated release of NASCAR The Game 2011 for the Wii™ System from Nintendo. Already available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, NASCAR The Game 2011 offers the ultimate adrenaline rush with unsurpassed pack-racing game physics and 43 cars battling it out until the checkered flag drops.

Players climb into the driver’s seat of these 900-horsepower beasts as one of the 43 real-world NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers, including fan-favorites Carl Edwards, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Joey Logano and Tony Stewart, or they can custom-create their own driver as they fight to be the first to the finish line. Meticulous attention to detail enlivens fan’s favorite drivers with individual characteristics and traits; epic showdowns will play out over the course of the season as gamers aim to collect the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

“We’ve heard firsthand from the fans that they were very eagerly awaiting the launch of NASCAR The Game 2011 on the Wii,” said Blake Davidson, NASCAR vice president for licensing and consumer products. “I don’t think they’ll be disappointed at all. The same non-stop, thrilling racing action that can be found in the other console versions is also available in the Wii release. Having this entertaining new game on the Wii strongly bolsters our move to reach a younger demographic and introduce them to a new experience in NASCAR.”

An incredible physics engine requires drivers to be on top of their game, nail their race lines and make split-second decisions to avoid “The Big One.” For those brave souls courageous enough to seize the moment, an all-new celebration mode has players doing burnouts, donuts, and gratuitous rabble rousing all in the name of victory.

With full optimization for the Wiimote™ controls, as well as Wii Classic Controller, GameCube Controller and wheels, the fun and thrilling atmosphere has been transferred to an electric experience on Wii. The full field of 43 cars and a head-rush inducing, 23 faithfully recreated tracks, capture the glory and excitement of the sport. Racers will have continual spotter feedback to adjust them to the drafts, blocks and slingshot maneuvers used on the track. Split-screen racing lets players take on any challenger for bragging rights. Revolutionary design, an awe-inspiring sense of speed and a true-to-life physics engine will have hearts racing from the moment the light hits green.
