If love had wings

I'd gently lift it
Towards the sky.
A homing pigeon
With it's wings ~
Would find you
And deliver "things".
Like hugs and kisses
In the wind ~
You'd catch them ~
Hold them close, dear friend.
Some things you
Simply cannot send ~
They can't survive
God's awesome winds.
For Hope, Joy,
Peace and Love ~
Would be things
I am speaking of.
What then could you
Send back to me?
Somehow, you'd know ~
For you know me.
This love I send
This "total need" ~
I feel for you
Each time I breathe.
So if love, indeed,
Had wings to fly ~
I'd gently lift it
Towards the sky.
Watch for it!
You never know ~
For only God
Could make it so.
