A Mother's Heart is Breaking
A mother’s heart is breaking,
For what her child has done
Is there someone else to blame,
Or is she the only one.
Could she have raised him better,
Been there for him more.
Is there something she could have done
To stop this awful gore?
Where did she go wrong,
As she raised her only son.
Did she neglect him, or somehow hurt him,
Is there something else she could have done.
Did he do this to punish her
Is that what this is for.
Please son my heart is breaking,
I just can’t take any more.
You told me I said things that hurt you,
I never meant to hurt you, my son.
I had no idea that I could cause
This awful thing that you have done.
So many questions without answers,
She may never know the truth,
Her heart just goes on breaking.
Wondering if it all stems from his youth.
Though her heart is breaking,
She stands by him until the end.
She knows that through it all,
She will be his only friend.
