The simple things of life do please me most
Like homemade jam spread on a piece of toast…
The smell of freshness in a morning rain…
Warm sunshine streaming through a windowpane…

Lush trees that overhang a grassy path…
The silky feel of water in a bath…
The smell of honeysuckle on the vine…
The color of the leaves in autumntime…

The pristine beauty of a winter snow…
A sunset that can make the heavens glow…
The rapture of a meadow full of flowers…
The peaceful rhythm of the summer showers…

An ocean view that never seems to end…
The all-approving laughter of a friend…
The innocence found in a baby’s face…
The little gifts that daily prove GOD’s grace.
