Scenes of the Country



A world called “The Country”
seems far, far away,
But the miles that I travel
take only a day,
A land drenched in beauty
where nothing compares
A bright Autumn morning
or evening out there.

A sunset of splendor
a soft lovely breeze,
The sounds of Autumn
that rustle the leaves,
A brisk Autumn daybreak
so wonderfully rare
Are scenes of the country
so lovely and fair.

The leaves dipped in color
of Autumn’s pure gold,
Are scenes of the country
that never grow old.
Contrasting in splendor
in GOD’s loving care,
Are colors of beauty
we see once a year.
