GOD’s presence I covet
to guide me each day,
His word to give courage
when trials come my way.
Some change in my pocket,
a place in the sun,
a pillow to rest on
when day’s work is done.
Someone to be near me
when dark shadows fall,
to cheer and uplift me
when my faith is small.
What more could I ask for,
what treasures unknown;
for I’m just a pilgrim
and heaven’s my home.
