Flowers of Life



A vase on the shelf without any flowers
Grows duller, and duller with each passing hour.
But add a few lilies, some snowballs, a rose
And you will discover, with beauty it glows.

And we earthly mortals are much the same way;
If we don’t have flowers, we’re a drab piece of clay.
We can make our lives bloom with the things from above,
There’s blossoms of kindness, truth, mercy and love.

We should always tend to our garden with care;
And keep all the beautiful plants blooming there.
And not let such tares as jealousy, and greed,
And envy, and spite, choke out the good seed.
