Through all the maze of all the years,
Beyond the dread and nameless fears,
Above the sorrows and the tears,
GOD’s love lingers on.
Past all the parting and the pain,
Through all the darkness and the rain,
Alone He stayeth just the same,
GOD’s love lingers on.
Through all the wickedness of sin,
Past all the noisy world of din,
Beyond the evil that’s within,
GOD’s love lingers on.
Through all the ways and means of earth,
Beyond the pain that gives joy birth,
Above the need for happy mirth,
GOD’s love lingers on.
Through all the needless trial and care,
My every burden He will bear,
Through all the years I’ll find Him there,
GOD’s love lingers on.
Through desert journey’s blinding heat,
Though peace of mind I seldom meet,
O’er all the way He’ll guide my feet,
GOD’s love lingers on.
