Alone With Jesus



When all we own is spent or wasted
And our friends have gone astray,
Life becomes a time of heartaches
That pervade our night and day
And we look for smiles and pleasures,
In our memories of past,
That the Lord has blessed with kindness
To forever live and last.

It's a time of private anguish
When we find ourselves, alone ~
In a house of empty treasures
And the silent sounds we own ~
But we find a caring comfort
In a Friend Who's always there
As our Shepherd and our Savior ~
And companion to our prayers.

Yet, He never shows His Person ~
That would make us be aware ~
We just feel His Holy Presence,
And we know that He is there
For there comes a gracious comfort ~
Every time we kneel in prayer
That can only come from Jesus ~
For no other friend is there.
