January 2011

GLEN LYON

January 2 - Police responded to a theft on West Newport Street. The victim called police and stated that her drug addicted brother stole an X Box game system and numerous games to support his drug habit. Charges filed.

January 5 - Police responded to a report of a burglary on Newport Street that occurred during the day. Multiple items were taken from the home. The rear door of the home was forced open. This is still under investigation.

January 6 - Police responded to a report of a break into St. Adalbert's Church on Market Street. The side door was forced open but no items appeared to be missing.

January 8 - Police responded to a report of a burglary that occurred overnight on Rock Street. A TV, DVD player and numerous DVD's were taken. This is still under investigation by police.

January 10 - Police took a Glen Lyon into custody on a warrant from the Luzerne County Sheriff's Office. He was also in possession of prescription pills that he was not prescribed and is facing additional charges.

January 28 - Police arrested a Glen Lyon after he beat his live-in girlfriend severely with a chair and an alarm clock causing serious injury to her face and head.

WANAMIE

January 1 - Police took a Glen Lyon male into custody for driving under the influence of marijuana and prescription pills after they observed him to be operating his vehicle in a careless manner.

January 1 - Police arrested 2 Glen Lyon men for operating ATVs on the West Kirmar Parkway while under the influence of alcohol. Both men tried to flee police. One male was taken into custody immediately. The other has charges filed on him when the officer recognized the man from prior encounters. Both men were on probation and out on bail.

SHEATOWN

January 2 - Police responded to a report of a barking dog complaint on Prince Street. The dog owner was cited under the township ordinance after being previously warned about the problem.

January 14 - Police tok a Sheatown man into custody after he made threats to kill himself. The male resisted arrest and was tasered by police. He was taken into custody with a minor injury.

January 22 - Police arrested a Wilkes-Barre man for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also in possession of a controlled substance after being searched. Incident to arrest.

ALDEN

January 4 - Police arrested an Alden for driving under the influence of alcohol after he hit a utility pole on East Kirmar Ave. and attempted to flee the scene.

January 16- Police arrested a Girardville woman for driving under the influce of alcohol.

RIDGE VIEW AND LEE No major incidents reported.


February 2011

GLEN LYON

February 5 - Police arrested a Glen Lyon man after he violated his probation conditions by consuming alcohol and fighting with Police. He was lodged at LCCF.

February 8 - Police took a Glen Lyon man into custody for Wright Township Police Department after they advised Newport Police they had a warrant for his arrest.

February 23 - Police responded to a report of fight amongst juveniles on West Main Street. Police responded and juveniles were cited for their actions.

WANAMIE

Februay 2 - A Glen Lyon man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after he was observed to be operating his vehicle without his headlights on and driving his vehicle into a front yard.

SHEATOWN, ALDEN, RIDGE VIEW AND LEE No major incidents reported.


March 2011

GLEN LYON

March 8 - Police were dispatched to a Home Invasion robbery on West Enterprise Street in Glen Lyon. The homeowner states that 3 males entered the home, one of them brandishing a hammer and attempted to rob him. This is ACTIVELY under investigation by the Chief and Officer Evans. Multiple arrests will be made in the near future.

March 8 - Police arrested a Plymouth man for fleeing and eluding a police officer while operating an ATV on the roadway and failing to stop when signaled by Police.

March 10 - A Glen Lyon man was assaulted at the American Legion after an argument. The victim refused to file charges on the offender. No further action was taken.

March 15 - Police arrested a Glen Lyon female for public drunkenness and resisting arrest after she tried to kick out the rear window of the patrol car.

WANAMIE

March 3 - Police took a Wilkes-Barre man into custody on a local warrant out of this department.

March 9 - Police charges a Wanamie woman with theft after she stole (2) gold rings from a friend's home. The rings were valued at $500.00 total.

SHEATOWN

March 3 - Police responded to a report of a theft out of vehicle that occurred overnight. The vehicle was parked near the KM Smith Elementary school.

March 3 - Police cited a Glen Lyon man for littering near the Friendly Food Mart in Sheatown.

ALDEN

March 10 - Police arrested a Wapwallopen woman for leaving the scene of an accident after she struck (2) utility poles and fled the scene.

RIDGE VIEW

March 9 - Police responded to a theft of $6,000 at a home on Overlook Drive. Police discovered that the victim's son was responsible and the victim failed to cooperate at that point. No further action will be taken.

LEE

No major incidents reported.
